The US National Fuel Moisture Database has moved and has become the National Field Sample Database (FSD)

Notice of Possible Impact

March 11, 2024

The National Fuel Moisture Database (NFMD) will transition to a module within the Fire Environment Mapping System (FEMS) starting on April 1st, 2024. To prepare for this transition, the current database, that was located within the Wildland Fire Assessment System (WFAS) at https://wfas.net/, has been shut down permanently as of March 11, 2024. NFMD will be replaced by a new module within the FEMS application called Field Sample Database (FSD) at https://fems.fs2c.usda.gov. The FSD will include enhanced features beyond what is currently experienced in the National Fuel Moisture Database.

Key Messages:

Please share this announcement with your networks, mark your calendars, and make any necessary preparations. We appreciate your patience during this transition. As with other aspects of FEMS, navigational guidance for the FSD will be posted within the application and/or in a FEMS FACTS blog on the FEMS website (https://www.wildfire.gov/application/fems).
